Why nearly all “futuristic” presentations have data bombarding! Every where it’s data and more data. I feel data is more of a behind-the-scene stuff. I would term it as “Data wastage”, just to make the future look too complicated.

I am not impressed either… The movie looks a lot like minority report to me and has barely something to do with usability and structured information. The “window” in the classroom is the only thing that seemed kind of new to me. I like the idea of the cultural exchange and the exploration of different languages and ways to express. But as it has been said in earlier comments: the (virtual) collaboration aspect is missing besides that. Why would I waste my time flying around the globe, when I can/could have an equivalent virtual workspace?
Fun fact: I tried to watch the other videos about manufacturing and health – but failed because Silverlight crashed.

Just to see another point of view about the future. This student project kind of shows a future that is envisioned to be more aligned with what we need and want as people instead of our needs and wants being dictated by technology.

It’s called propaganda, their trying to make people think that they are so cool and it’s fun to work for them, I don’t now maybe it looks like this but it is just maden to correct their reputation. : )

The future belongs to technolgy as long as we have enough ressources. Without ressources there is no computer world and no longer an existance of google or microsoft possible.

The fact that this may or may be the future for a staggeringly small percentage of the world’s population is pretty irrelevant. That 121 million children worldwide have no access to education at all is not a problem that is going to be addressed by giant touchscreens in classrooms. This is truly, depressingly idiotic.
