Adding olfactory to products
Designer Ko Yiu Fai has designed an usb stick that spreads a scent when the usb stick is plugged in the computer. Although the stick can not hold any memory it adds a nice flavor to your computer experience. But we think if this technology is further developed it can be used for many other uses as well; adding olfactory to computer use!

How does it work?
A container with flagrance oil can be placed in the usb stick. When the stick is plugged in the computer it uses power of the computer to run a fan that blows the flagrance in the air.
Future possibilities
This stick can only hold one flagrance, and the only reason why it needs to be plugged in the computer is because it needs power. But what if…. A stick has several fragrances and can be controlled by software you could add an extra sense to your computer use. In for instance gaming this could be applied a lot, imagine you are smelling burned rubber when you are playing a racing game. Or smelling gunpowder when you are playing war games.
Or what about programming the usb stick to give a coffee scent at ten in the morning at work? You will get a subtle hint to grab a cup of coffee!
